Visual One Selected for Nunsmere Hall, Cheshire

Visual One Systems are delighted to announce that Nunsmere Hall and Restaurant, near Chester, have placed an order for their integrated Front Office, Sales Ledger, Point of Sale, Sales & Catering and Web Bookings.

Malcolm McHardy, Director, commented, “After an extensive review process we believe that Visual One has the expertise to assist Nunsmere Hall with our ongoing business developments. The selection of Visual One is key to our future plans for expanding Nunsmere Hall and with Visual One’s extensive product range, we know they will be able to fulfil our system needs for many years to come”.

Mike Gadbury, Managing Director of Visual One Systems (Europe) said. “Nunsmere Hall is a delightful property and I am delighted they have selected Visual One and we look forward to a long partnership with Mr McHardy”.

About Nunsmere Hall

Built around 1900 for Sir Aubrey Brocklebank and his wife Grace, Nunsmere Hall's past is entwined with England's maritime history and the aristocratic liners of the 20th Century.

Sir Aubrey was chairman of the famous Brocklebank Shipping Line in Cumberland dating back to the 1700s. From here the ancestors sailed the seven seas and established a shipbuilding yard in New England. The American Civil War of Independence brought that venture to an abrupt halt but the Brocklebanks prospered and in 1820 they opened offices in Liverpool. Soon the fleet plied the world, from Calcutta and Bombay to Shanghai and Lima. In 1911 steam brought a new era. Sir Aubrey became Chairman of the Brocklebank Line, which played a vital role in maintaining the Nation's food supplies during the First World War. By the time of the Great War, The company had already tentatively linked with Cunard. 25 years later the companies merged - Cunard-Brocklebank Line. Sir Aubrey was appointed to the Cunard board. In the 1900s he designed a magnificent new liner to restore Cunard in the North Atlantic. Sadly, Sir Aubrey was never to see his work come to fruition. He died in 1929, and 5 years later, on 26 September 1934, the Queen Mary was launched. The specifications were just as Sir Aubrey and his team had planned! The family remained at Nunsmere Hall until the Second World War when the building became a temporary hospital. John Brocklebank, who had grown up at Nunsmere, inherited the family title in 1953 upon the death of his elder brother and some years later, he reluctantly accepted the Chair of Cunard. In 1963, through his prompting, a new Cunard (Queen) was on the drawing board. This was to become the QE2.

The hotel has 36 double rooms, each beautifully appointed and individually designed. Most have antique furnishings, Persian rugs and lots of extra touches to give our guests that ‘home from home’ feeling. Most of our junior suites have Jacuzzis and televisions in the bathrooms.

Visual One Systems to Demonstrate True Browser-based PMS at New York Hotel Show

“V1Net” is designed for limited service properties, chains, and multi-site management companies

ROCKVILLE, MD (USA) – November  9, 2005 – Visual One Systems Corporation, a leading supplier of management software to the hospitality industry since 1977, will be demonstrating their web-based PMS software, called V1Net, at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show at the Jacob Javits Center this coming week, November 13-15.  Operating within a browser, V1Net uses “dot net” technology.  Users merely bring up their Internet browser, log-in to their URL, and perform everything from reservations to check-in/out to guest history, receivables, and more.

V1Net operates within a standard Internet browser and is designed for limited service hotels, hotel chains, management companies that prefer to maintain all of their properties’ data on a central server.  V1Net is perfect for individual hotels, too, that want a low-cost entry into state-of-the-art-technology for their front office operations.

Among V1Net’s features are front office, reservations, package plans, group management, guest history, housekeeping, travel agency commissions, interfaces to hundreds of other systems, and more.

"V1Net is the sixth, full, PMS system that we have developed in our 27 year history,” says David Burroughs, President of Visual One Systems.  “It is a new-generation system based on the latest Microsoft ‘dot-net’ technology.  V1Net addresses the operational needs of hotels of all sizes, and is an excellent solution for the IT centralization needs of multi-property operations."

V1Net offers the ultimate in flexibility both from an operations standpoint and a licensing standpoint:  the software can be hosted by a web-hosting service or it can be operated “locally” on a standard, Microsoft SQL Server computer.  And, the software can be licensed based on occupancy levels or an outright purchase price.

V1Net is not a replacement for V1’s premier property management software.  V1’s core product line, which will continue to be marketed to 4- and 5-star properties, includes the Visual One Systems property management software, sales & catering software, restaurant and retail point-of-sale, back-office accounting, condominium accounting; central reservations, spa and facilities management, club management, and golf course management.

All of V1’s software products use Microsoft’s SQL Server database.

Visual One Systems Installs True Browser-based Property Management System

“V1Net” is designed for chains and multi-site management companies
If you’ve got access to the Internet, you’ve got a property management system

ROCKVILLE, MD (USA) – April 21, 2005 – Visual One Systems Corporation, a leading supplier of management software to the hospitality industry since 1977, has installed their web-based PMS software called V1Net at four sites, ranging from 128 rooms to 268 rooms, in the Mid-Atlantic area of the United States.  Operating within a browser, V1Net uses “dot net” technology.  Users merely bring up their URL, log-in, and perform everything from reservations to check-in/out to guest history, receivables, and more.

V1Net operates within a standard Internet browser and is designed for hotel chains and management companies that prefer to maintain all of their properties’ data on a central server.

VISUAL ONE ENTERS DANISH MARKET

Visual One Systems have made their first sale in Denmark with the signing of the Nyborg Strand Hotel. The 290 bed roomed hotel have ordered the Visual One PMS, Sales and Catering, Point of Sale, Web Bookings and Accounts Receivable.

After working with an older Novell/Dos-based hotel application for numerous years they saw the need for a new and modern system to help them in their business. Although the old system was a good and stable product it did not give them the flexibility they were looking for.

“We wanted a quick, reliable and easily maintained system that utilized one database and interfaced with our other software and hardware solutions” said Poul Ove Juul, the Hotel Manager of the hotel.

“We spent months looking for systems in the marketplace and we settled for Visual One. It is a large system with all the facilities we need to be able to increase the control of our business and hopefully sell even more than we do today. We also expect to be able to simplify our operation with Visual One. One of our goals is that everything about a function, from the first sales call to the event itself, can be handled and organized through Visual One”, added Mr Juul.

“We have received professional and thorough help and support from the sulcus hospitality group (the Visual One Distributor in Scandinavia) and Visual One during the process. We have also been given the opportunity to ask other Visual One clients of their experience with the product. After very positive feedback from European colleagues and a site visit to the UK we have high expectations of the Visual One software solution”, concluded Mr Juul.

Roar Hansen the MD of Sulcus Hospitality added, “We are delighted that the Nyborg Strand have signed up for the Visual One System. There is a growing demand for an established Windows based product in our region and we expect many hotels to follow the Nyborg lead”.

Mike Gadbury, Managing Director of Visual One said, “We have been working hard on setting up a distribution network in Europe and we see this as the first of many opportunities for our product in Scandinavia”.

Visual One Selected for The Strand Palace Hotel, London

Visual One beats competition for the 800 bedroomed hotel in Central London

Visual One Systems are delighted to announce that the The Strand Palace Hotel, London, have placed an order for their integrated Front Office, Sales Ledger, Sales & Catering and Point of Sale system

Peter O’Meara, General Manager of The Strand Palace said “We spent quite some time in assessing presentations from four different companies using a number of criteria so as to be able to take a balanced view of what was on offer before deciding. The evaluation was carried out in conjunction with our company IT director, an outside IT consultant, plus a Revenue Director who had installed PMS systems across a 90-unit hotel company.

As part of our evaluation we set out the following requirements: -

* We wanted to test a version of the system both with and without the PMS supplier being present.
* Key personnel were to fully test the systems operationally which we did in the UK and USA
* Ease of use and quality of product and adaptability
* Asking existing customers of the 4 suppliers about after sales service
* Compatibility of the system with other key systems (POS-TV system-Telephones-bedroom lock system-sales ledger etc.)
* Speaking to colleagues in other hotels with the 4 different systems to get unbiased feedback.

What distinguished Visual One from their competitors was a very clear signal with regard to the service they provide, which was backed up by all of the current users we questioned/visited. The system itself offered all of the programmes/facilities which are now quite standard but Visual One seemed to be able to do it with straight forward pricing and more realistic timeframes.

The commitment from the very top of the Visual One was clear from the start and although price was not a major determining factor and they were not the cheapest, their people were by far the most credible we met. This cannot be said of some that we dealt with. Whilst we await the installation to see just how good they are and the system is, we believe we have made a very good choice. As one of the largest hotels in Britain it will be a brilliant test to complete a successful installation.”

Mike Gadbury, Managing Director of Visual One Systems Europe said, “This is tremendous news for us and will have a major impact on the market. It is significant that service and support was a major factor for the hotel, and we place a major emphasis on this in our company. In addition, we have a great range of integrated products, all developed by our company on a standard Windows platform. I am delighted that we are now winning major deals like the Strand Palace and we fully expect to continue to make strong in-roads into the market as a whole”.
